Independence and Gratitude

We as a People are so very blessed to live in America.  Our Heavenly Father inspired the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution through the souls of righteous men so that citizens of the United States can enjoy the freedom and quality of life which exists today.  For that I am eternally grateful and humbled as a human being.

As is so often the case, this Independence Day my mind drifts towards our soldiers fighting and sacrificing in the Middle-East.  The United States Military, consisting of the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marines, is the culmination of thousands of years of mankind's development and progress on Earth.  Without our soldiers there would be no America to shine above all other nations throughout history and the modern world as the best this planet has ever offered.

It is for our freedom and lives that our soldiers continue to fight-on, giving up nearly everything but their pride in America and dedication to their unit in order preserve security and prosperity.  Nothing other than fear and cowardice of our politicians here at home seem to be able to stop the United States Military.  Nothing.  In fact, there is no doubt in my mind our soldiers can accomplish anything in the world, any task they are given to do, and whatever enemy they must defeat.  I am forever indebted to our soldiers for my very life, and so are you.

With all the challenges and seemingly grave dangers facing America today, I am one citizen who is not afraid.  Even if I were to die tomorrow, I would be thankful for the 32 years spent alive in America versus one-hundred years living anywhere else.  I have no fear of the great but surmountable issues our country will face because I have the United States Military to defend my way of life and preserve the ideals and principles set down by our Founding Fathers with the divinely-inspired Declaration of Independence and Constitution.  There is no substitute for the real thing.
